The Treasure Room

The Cathedral's treasure is housed in the Chapter House, on the floor that was originally used to store wax, olive oil and vestments, essential items for the liturgy. The current arrangement is the responsibility of the architect Fernando Távora (1946-1996), a renowned architect from the Porto School. The treasure trove includes unique pieces of jewellery, vestments and books, dating from the 16th to the 20th centuries and used for liturgical services.
